Remodeling Project of the Year, Overall Redesign, Under $300,000
For this 1938 2-story house, we added an 800 sq. ft. 2-story addition, expanding a much too small kitchen on the main level and a family gathering space. The 2nd floor added an additional bedroom for their family. Included in this project was a kitchen remodel including new “on-trend” white painted cabinets, Cambria quartz countertops, new stainless-steel appliances, and a subway tile backsplash and hardwood flooring to tie into the adjoining spaces. A butler’s pantry with a wall mounted TV, additional storage, and undercounter beverage center is perfect for a house with 3 school age children. This family of 5 also gained a drop zone consisting of built in lockers off the new kitchen.
Kitchen Remodeling Project of the Year
Starting out as a full kitchen remodel for a newly-purchased home, this project quickly evolved to a whole-house remodel, touching many parts of this home. We remodeled the kitchen with new cabinetry, quartz countertops, some new appliances, subway tile backsplash and new flooring (which ended up being installed on the entire main level). We removed an unnecessary bank of cabinets and created a walk-up bar for coffee or cocktails with distressed open shelving and iron brackets, white subway tile, a new bar sink, ice maker, and beverage center. We also did partial remodeling in 3 bathrooms, painted the entire house, and changed the flooring on the second floor as well.
Remodeling Project of the Year, Miscellaneous Project
With an unfinished basement space that was full of scattered balls, toys and extra furniture, the owners wanted a large entertaining and family space to enjoy. We opened up the stairs to the basement for a more welcoming entry, added an exercise room, a full bath, a craft room, a large entertaining area that includes a direct vent fireplace, built-in cabinetry, a full entertaining bar with built-in wine storage, and a game area.
